The Importance of Ilm in Islam

In Islam, the pursuit of knowledge is not merely encouraged — it is an obligation. The very first word revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was "Iqra" (Read).

At Ziya Foundation, we build our entire mission around this principle. Every classroom we support, every teacher we train, and every scholarship we award is an act of spreading divine light.

Knowledge liberates. It breaks the chains of poverty, ignorance, and injustice. When a child learns to read, an entire generation's future changes.
